Tweaking Windows startup
October 26th 2006 02:15
Do you have a lot of stuff loading when windows starts up? Does it make the startup really slow? Here’s a way you can fix this!
Go to the start menu > run > Type “msconfig”.
This will bring up another window. In this window click the rightmost tab. Its called “Startup”.
Uncheck boxes next to applications which you don’t want starting up when windows starts up.
It will then ask you to re-start your computer. You can either restart it at this stage or exit without restart. If you choose exit without restart the changes will take place the next time you restart your computer.
****Please note that there are inherent risks whilst dealing with the startup menu and hence please carefully make sure that the application isn’t an internal windows application.
